Up up to the North!

Up up and away! Let's pack up and get going to Penang! Penang - a famous destination among foreign tourist and local Malaysians as ALL of them are attracted to the scrumptious foods in Penang. The last time I went to Penang Island were last year, and I intended to go to Penang (again) this year! Just for the food. Yes, food! I would not go to the famous Kek Lok Si Temple, or the Bukit Bendera, or Batu Feringghi; as I have been there before, at least twice. This time, I will purely concentrate on FOOD, and nothing but food.

AND I WOULD NOT SHOP!
(Chant to myself thrice)
I WOULD NOT SHOP!
I WOULD NOT SHOP!
I WOULD NOT SHOP!!! *arghhhh...*

The trip from Penang to Seremban takes about 6 hours by car. We stopped by several highway rest area for occasional visits to the washroom, coffee, food, and just to take a short break between long drive. Just to keep us sane.

My knees definitely went weak when I saw Baskin Robbins! Tunggu apa lagi? I ordered a scoop of Cookies and Cream (absolutely taste better than Haagen Dazs's) and a scoop of Rich Chocolate ice-creams, served in chocolate dipped waffle cone, sprinkled with almonds!

Okay okay okay... I know! Previously, not long ago I just had Haagen-Dazs and now I am having Baskin Robbins?!? I realise that too! But I just can't resist the urge in my heart every time I saw ice-creams. The urge that said, "Go get it! Go go go!!! If you don't get it, you wouldn't be name as Mei-Wah!".

Watcha waiting for?!? Take a dive into the sea of ice-creams... No doubt that Baskin's Cookies and Cream taste better and has more chunky Oreo cookies than Haagen Dasz.

Another thing that rejuvenate both of us are Dunkin Donut's sandwich and Iced Mocha Coffee! Please don't compare Dunkin Donut's coffee with Gloria Jean/Coffee Bean/Starbucks, it's absolutely cannot be compared. It doesn't taste that bad. Just that it unable to give me the "ohmmph" feel. Personally, I prefer my cuppa Old Town coffee though.

Their too-healthy multi grain bread with cheese, turkey ham and lots of vegetables, which I'm not used to. I'm the curry-puff/nasi lemak/char kuey teow/maggi goreng breakfast kind of person. Hahaha...

After 6 hours of drive, we reached our destination! And our first Penang food were Loh-Bak (things deep fried to perfection, dipped in special chili sauces) , popiah, cucur udang, dim sum, char kuey teow and iced cocoa drink at Padang Brown Hawker Centre... ALL recommended by Akira the Food God! Yes, you got it right! I met Akira on my first day to Penang and he was so nice to bring us for local food (not the over-charged and not-so-delicious food in tourist spots like Gurney Drive).

Food food glorious foods!
Popiah!
Steaming hot fresh Dim Sum!
Char kuey teow!
Loh bak!
Cucur udang!
Iced cocoa!

*slurrrppp*

This special drink, named as "Pat Pou" Char (as told by Akira) were only available in Penang. It is actually "pat pou" (please read it in Cantonese) mixed with milk and it taste special and refreshing! Psst... "pat pou" tea is actually Akira's most favorable drink!

I LOVE "PAT POU TEA" TOO!

Akira meets Wei Hwa and Mei-Wah, face to face! I am so happy to meet you, Akira. You are friendly, funny and knowledgeable. You definitely know a lot about food! And I mean LOTS OF IT!

Hey, we are not bidding each other "bye-bye" yet! There are lots more to come! It's only day ONE! Akira has lots more to show us around...

Aih... I don't have to keep the suspense as Akira has already blogged about it. Click here to know more.

Aiyar, no more suspense already... (T______T)

Our Sweet Indulgences

Kids love ice-cream.
Girls love ice-cream.
I LOVE ICE-CREAM!
All the people in the world love ice-cream... (duh... who doesn't???)

And the word "Haagen Dazs" will definitely gives me TWINKLE IN THE EYES! I love Haagen Dazs! Love it, heart it, dreaming about it! *slurrrppp*

The first time when I had my first taste of Haagen Dazs was when I was (plus minus) 15 years old. I was with Valerie, Siew Yee and Siow Mei; on our trip to Genting Highland and I was young, poor and unfashionable wtf. So, Valerie bought a scoop of Macadamia Haagen-Dazs ice-cream and I stole a bite! Oh my freaking gawd, damn it was delicious...!!! So smooth. So delicious. Sweetness were right. It was the best thing I have tasted in my entire life!

The second time I taste Haagen Dazs was year 2008 (this year lah *duh*). One fine Sunday, we decided to have a fine Haagen Dazs as our dessert after a fine walk in The Gardens. Hahaha... Nah, actually we got Haagen Dazs voucher worth RM25! I heart... I heart... (^______^) We decided to give ourselves some sweet indulgent (after minus the voucher, we only have to pay RM9! Muahaha... I love great bargains!).

"Layer upon layer of taste, texture, sensation and pleasure"
Oh my... my mind wanders to the world of ice-cream...

Who doesn't love Haagen Dazs?

We ordered Haagen Daz Ice Cream with Brownie!!!
Piping hot brownie, topped with layer of rich milky chocolate,
with a scoop of Cookies & Cream and Vanilla ice-cream each.

MY VERDICT: As I place my first scoop of Cookie & Cream ice-cream into my mouth, it taste errmmm... WEIRD. Yes, weird! It taste of "chemical". Not only me who said that, Wei-Hwa said exact same thing too. However, Vanilla ice-cream taste sibeh heavenly! Brownie were heated to the right temperature, and the layer of chocolate on top of it makes it taste even superbly amazing! Feed a bite of brownie into your mouth PLUS a bite of Vanilla ice-cream equals (take a deep breath) SUPERDUPEROMGMCDKFCFREAKINGLY blissfully yummy!

Our oh-so-heavenly face.

Next stop: SUSHI KING!!!

Wahahaa... dessert first, then main course! I ordered salmon Sashimi and udon! Oh my... oh my... my knees can go weak if I see udon. And Sashimi. And ice-cream. And cheese cake. And unagi. And pizza. And McD. And KFC wtf. And... oh-my-gawd, I'm starting to talk bullshits.

6 pieces of pathetically thin Sashimi.
Nevertheless, I'm still loving it!

My bowl of delicious udon, I asked for refill of soup!
Nope, I don't feel paiseh at all. LOL...

My catch of the day - necklaces from Diva. ALL 50% oFF!!! I love... I love... I LOVE SALES!!!

I heart necklaces.

I can't go Paris. It will burn a hole in my pocket.
So, I wear it around my neck! LOL...
(^___________^)

P/S: Someone (by the name of Lim Cheebye) PISSED me off today!!! Pissed me off SO MUCH that I wanna curse him HERE! Please don't be TOO rational when reading my curse because it would definitely can't be happening. This is just to humor and to make myself feel better...

Dear Mr. Lim,

I would dig a hole on a land, stuff you in it, and spread cement over you. Next, I would place a TOILET BOWL right on top of you! And everyone would SHIT and PEE on you! (Anyone wanna continue with my story?)

Haih... felt much better...

HAPPY NEWS: I am heading over to Penang for makan-makan festival this Saturday! Yeah yeah... I just can't wait for it! Ignore Mr. Lim Cheebye and I am the happiest girl on earth.

Happy 1-year-old to Blog Indulgence!

Hey hey hey...

Guess what? It has been a year since I started writing my own blog. The first name that I gave to my blog was "Blog Indulgence with the hint of Kiwi, Raspberry and Me!". Why kiwi? Why raspberry? Why the two fruits significant to me? Hahaha... I didn't know the answer too. I thought that maybe the blog's name will sound better with some "kiwi" and "raspberry" on it ala "coffee, tea or me" style wtf.

Later on, I start to think that "Blog Indulgence with the hint of Kiwi, Raspberry and Me!" totally sound stupid! Therefore, I changed it plainly to "Blog Indulgence!".

Other than changing blog's name, I changed 3 templates already (the recent one that I'm using is the third one)! First template I used was Blogger.com designate template, which was pure black with white fonts and Mount Kinabalu as the header picture. Next, I found out that we can actually change the templates (doink, I was shallow, stupid and slow-learner wtf)! So, I googled "free blogger template" and I stumbled upon this webbie, and I used their 2 templates, just because their designs are so CUTE, I heart it! The second template I used was called the Heartz where there are pink flowers and hearts with black background and white fonts. Why always black? I always thought that black is cool, black is attitude, black is mysterious! As time goes by, I got bored of this dark template too... And I switched to a more colorful, cheerful, happy template, called the Lazy Afternoon, which I have been using it until now! (^________^) Heart it... heart it...

On this day, a year ago, 20 May 2007, my first blog entry in Blog Indulgence! was about my happiness for graduating with a Degree in hand! LOL... And damn proud of it wtf... So, it has been a year now since I first started on Blog Indulgence! and I've got no plan to stop. I wouldn't say that I'm NOT going to stop blogging. Who knows, maybe someday I will stop blogging and remove this blog once and for all? While, in the meantime, I enjoyed blogging (as much as I love reading other people's blog), shared my love for food/travel/little things that make me happy/my friends/etc etc with all the world. And not forgetting that I met lotsa new fun blogger friends along the way... (^______^)

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY

...

Love of my life
I don't have a lot to give you
What's in my heart
Is all that I can really give you
Love, undying love is all I have
A handful of words, that might make you laugh
And all the strength you need
To make it through
All your troubled times
I give all of myself to you
Only you
My dream come true

Love of my life
You were all I ever wanted
To be with you
Is all I ever really wanted
You, you've made my life a fairy tale
You've added love, to a life that was so stale
And know that I'll be here
Always for you, when you need a friend
I give all of myself to you
Only you
My dream come true

I've been waiting my whole life for you
Now my waiting is through
All the nights I spent dreaming I knew
That my dream would come true

So many nights
I laid awake dreaming I knew
One day I'd be with you
Now all my nights of dreaming are through
Cause my dream has come true
Dream come true
My dream has come true

Getting Fishy on Saturday Night

It's Saturday night.

I'm bored.

I called up Siew Yee, "Wanna go out?".
She said "Okay, sure!".

I called up Rose, "Wanna hang out?".
She said, "Okay, I'll meet ya after dinner".

I called up Yee Chi, "Hey, let's go out!".
She said, "Okay... okay...".

And it's time to get fishy at Manhattan Fish Market (MFM)!!! Although they serve below-delicious foods and drinks, but we have this:

Buy 1 free 1 fish and chips! Muahahaha... (^______^) Buy 1 fish and chips and get the complimentary second set FREE!!! Who doesn't adore free stuffs? To obtain one for yourself, type "my111 manhattanfishmarket" and send it to 33365. Any free stuffs taste delicious to me *knock myself on the wall*. Many of my friends who have been to MFM Seremban said that they serve fish which aren't fresh. How true is that? Tonight I will give it a try myself!

Oh-so kissable Roses the pharmacist and Siew Yee the Master student.

Get your "freshest catch" in Manhattan Fish Market *blek*.

Taking pictures of us with the help of the large mirror.

We are the type of girls who eat dessert before the main course! We ordered Tiramisu (RM8.90), a recommended dessert of MFM (as said in their menu). One the first bite, it taste delicious and very cheesy! However, as I devour on the Tiramisu, it's getting SO sweet I can't stand it anymore, especially on the final layer of the Tiramisu. Rated 4/10.

Me, Rose and Siew Yee.

Our combat with Tiramisu! We won...

When girls got together, the only thing in our mind is GOSSIP! (^______^) Now we know that one original Viagra pill from America cost around RM40 plus! "Pirated" Viagra from India cost half of the price - RM20! Most men eat half-a-pill of Viagra, but some eat whole and this can cost their lives, as the pill increases their blood pressure! For the love of sex, they lost their lives... Worth it meh? LOL...

Our "Buy 1 Free 1" arrives!
Fish & Chips - RM14.90, free Fish & Chips - RM14.90! Hoo-ray!

My humble verdict for the dish - chips were too salty and they sprinkled too much MSG. Fish were deep-fried to perfection, but the fish fillet weren't so fresh after all... (MFM says: Huh? You want super fresh fish ar? Get one yourself from the sea lar wtf!!!)

Look at the million-dollar expression on Siew Yee's face!
It's okay that the fillet weren't fresh, it was free after all!

The bottomless (refillable) ice lemon tea (RM5.80) was BAD! It was too sweet for my liking, absolutely no taste of tea or lemon! It was BAD! However, Rose's cappuccino (RM6.90) were just fine. She's happy with her drink.

Coffeeholic Rose and her cuppa cappuccino.

Double headed alien spotted at MFM!!! Argh... run for your life wtf.

Place the red carpets! Bring on the paparazzi! Snap your cameras everyone!
FINALLY, Yee Chi arrives! We have already finished our Tiramisu, fish and chips, 3 times refill of ice-lemon tea and now only you come??? Hmmph!!!

I love both the photos! Cos we hired the best photographer in town!

It's name was... Mr. Self Timer!

Mr. Self Timer needs some help too from MFM too. It's none other than the MFM's wooden table mat. Stack 6 of it on top of each other and you can camwhore with it however you like!!!
HAHAHAHA... (^________^)

Bye-bye Chee Siaw Foong!

Hahaha... I mentioned Siaw Foong's FULL name, with her surname some more! She will sure whack me when she read this post! Hahaha... (>_____<) Now, everyone knows who is Chee Siaw Foong already! (matilah, I exposed her Friendster AND her full name - sure kena wallop by her gau-gau when I meet her again some day).

Last Wednesday (7 May 2008), we went to the all-famous Seremban Crab Bakar in coincidence with the celebration of Siaw Foong and Joanne's resignation. Wah, 2 office-person leaving at the same date - company no good is it?

Close-colleague's resignation means makan besar for us (hoo--ray!). Although we are feeling awfully sad with them leaving us, it is a tradition for us to organize a get-together dinner before they leave. How we end up in Kedai Makanan Seremban, let me tell you the story: first, we planned to eat at Food Street Restaurant located at Taman Lobak. BUT they were closed every Wednesday wtf... So, we moved on to another place to eat clams (famous for delicious la-la), but that particular shop (in Taman AST) were closed for 3 days due to "happy events" wtf. Plan 1 and Plan 2 FAILED. Move on to Plan 3 - Kedai Makanan Seremban, famous for crabs and also famous for the unfriendly and unpleasant Mrs. Boss, whom she will give you the "I got so much business and money already, it's totally fine with me if I don't get your business" face.

Fried "kam heong" clams. La-la fried with dried chilis, curry leaves and dunno-what-else-they-put-in-it until they make it so delicious! Sibeh finger licking good! (Eh, I hate Mrs. Boss and her service, I was suppose to talk bad about this restaurant, not praise it!)

Fried "yau mak" with bean-curd.
Hahahawtf... Oh-so-delicious!

Their special dipping sauce that make everything taste wonderful!

Aiyah, I forgotten their glamorous name. All I remember was this crab was cooked with salted duck egg (as they claimed to be), but what we get was deep-fried crab in flour batter MINUS the salted duck egg. Luckily there are special-dipping-sauce! It makes any crab taste good!

Let's grab some crabs!

We ordered 3 crab dishes, but I only manage to take photos of 2 crab dishes. (T______T) Forgive me please, as my hands were very dirty and I was damn starving. The second dish were crabs cooked in clay pot with Chinese wine, ginger and Chinese black fungus. I don't prefer this style of crab-cooking as I don't really like anything cooked with Chinese wine.

Muahaha... my favorite crab of all! CHEESE CRAB! I love I love I loveeeee cheese crab! Or anything that goes with cheese. In fact, any fattening food are delicious okay!

Here goes my mathematics theory - Given that fattening food are delicious.
Cheese are fattening.
Therefore, in conclusion cheese are delicious!
Who ever hates cheese, please stay away!!!

Fried "sang" mee. Got fried rice also which I forgot to snap the picture.
Sibeh delicious also!!! (T______T)

The leftover after the war between human race and the critters.

Menu board. So clever right? They doesn't have to design, print, laminate and bind the menus for each tables/customers, thus save cost! One big board says it all. Any changes in the menu? So easy - just peel off the wording on the board and replace with new ones.

From left: Yoke Foong, Siaw Foong, Joanne and Jen Fon.
Eh, why so many "Foong"s around one? (^___^)

Good time buddies - Jen Fon and Siaw Foong.

Siaw Foong and Rachel (she got addicted to Facebook already! Someone please save her please! Her fluffFriend, Mr. Freddie is running at 6000 fph! Scared the hell out of me... I got bored of Facebook and fluffFriend already. Poor Dodo I didn't feed/pet/race him for such a long time... Anyone, please challenge Dodo okay?)

Me and Siaw Foong sibeh cute... Oklah oklah, you all can puke!

Next station of the night - Yoke Foong 1-night-tour at her house. Huge garden right? I also want... Then, my Dodo can run/shit/pee whatever his heart desires. Nicely decorated house (not 100% fully decorated already so beautiful! You imagine once it is FULLY renovated and decorated!). Phew-whit~~~!!!

Oklah, you can puke to this picture again. But doesn't this angle make my legs seems to be a lil' slimmer and longer? Muahahahawtf... Give me a pair of Nine West pumps, and I can rule the magazine cover wtf.

Siaw Foong brought along her cute Shih-Tzu doggie - Bubble! So cute and fluffy right? Oklah, maybe you can't really see HOW cute and fluffy Bubble might be because of the bad lighting of my camera. But in fact, IT IS CUTE AND FLUFFY AND SMELLS GOOD AND ADORABLE AND I WANT TO BRING IT BACK HOME!!!

Oh, how much I love hugging Bubble...

SUPER HUGE GARDEN of Foong Jie's house.
Green-green grass, feels like prickly carpet!

Another star attraction at Yoke Foong's house - deep sea stones! The precious stones standing right behind us were dig up down from the deep sea. You can even see the green-moss-lookalike fossils of sea weeds on the stone (refer to picture dowwwnnnn below). When I ask the couple where the sea came from, Mr. Wong said "I don't know". So, since I can't brag about it, just camwhore with it lor...

Us waiting for Siaw Foong's participation.

Charlie's Angel wtf looking angelic and innocent.

Charlie's Angel looking "gimme-your-money-or-your-life" wtf.
Aren't you sibeh scared?

Ahah! This is the close-up picture of the fossil that I have mentioned earlier.
Super geli right? Yet it look artistic.

Smell our foot! *sniff*sniff*... puke!

Poor Bubble wanna enter the house, but we don't let her in.

Bye-bye to Chee Siaw Foong and Joanne Lau Jing Ping (hah! I mentioned their FULL name again!!!). Hope both of you will shine in your new companies and new working environment.
