A day with Kelly and her Coach

A friend is like a flower,
a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like those blades of grass
you can never mow,
standing straight, tall, and proud
in a perfect little row.
A friend is like a heart that goes
strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn't have a friend.

Oklar, I'll stop being so emo... ;p Actually what I wanted to say was I meet up with Kelly and Siew Yee on one fine Sunday ago - to pass Kelly her Coach bracelet and getting my money back (which is the most important thing, I'm broke okay!), while Siew Yee and I took our usual shot of Omega-3, DHA and EPA hahahaha :D salmon sashimi of course! ;)

Venue:
Sushi King, Jusco Seremban 2.

Me, Kelly and Siew Yee

Us pretending ah-lian wtf. :)

Me: I look fat in that picture, DELETE it quick! :@
Kelly: Nah... I don't wanna delete it! Force me if you can!
Siew Yee: I think you look pretty fine... :)

Kelly: Na na na na na, force me lar! I don't wanna delete it~ :p
Me: :#
Siew Yee: La la la la... (in her own world wtf)

Me: Hmmph, benci kau! Bleeeccckkkk!!! :p (Hmmph, hate you!)
Kelly: Peduli apa aku dengan kau?!? (I don't wanna care about you!)
Siew Yee: La la la la la... (in her own world)

Lol~ :D

P/S: I just can't wait for Batman the Dark Knight to be shown in the cinema! I heart Christian Bale! :$ Argh~~!!! (wailing like some 13 year old kiddos) Can't help it okay! He's such a hottie!

Food food glorious food at New World Park

GREAT NEWS!!!
GREAT NEWS!!!
GREAT NEWS!!!

Hehehe... this blog entry will be the end of my Penang trip. (I heard people shouting with joy and jumping with happiness... =__________=).

Sigh...

Anyway, I will wrap up my Penang trip footage gracefully. And here it goes...

After having Prawn Mee for breakfast,
After morning walking in Youth Park,
After shopping in Ghee Hiang,
And another round of shopping in Sheng Hiang,
After cooling ourselves with cendol,
Finally... and I mean it this time... FINALLY, Wei-Hwa and I are heading back to Seremban. :(

But not before we have our FINAL :o round of food with Akira! ;) *wink*wink* ;) Tunggu apa lagi? Makan lah! Akira brought us to New World Park, a new open-air food court, in between Swatow Lane, Burma Road and Kedah Road.

This map is absolutely useful~ ;)

OMG OMG... what's the name of this dish? Argh... Dragon, please help me!!! This is the problem you will face if you blog about food TOO LATE! Or maybe it's the problem with my memory after all? Lol... :D

Ah, got answer from Dragon already... It's pasembur!!! It's a Malaysian Indian salad (yes, it doesn't make you fat!) consist of shredded cucumber, turnip, potatoes, beancurd, bean sprouts, prawn fritters, spicy fried crab, fried octopus, etc etc, and served with sweet and spicy nutty sauce.

I admit, we ordered waaayyy too much food.

Cucumber, guava, raw mangoes, squid, water apple, with yummy dressing and chopped peanuts~

The secret to the dressing: water, belacan, sugar, shrimp paste, chili and lime juice. That makes everything taste absolutely delicious! :$

Crunchy, light and delicious! :D

Chinese styled pancakes! Yummy yummy...

I love the pancake so much cause it has lotsa creamed corn in it!
I love creamed corn...

I love creamed corn...

I love creamed corn...

I love creamed corn...

I love creamed corn...

I love creamed corn...!!!
:$

"Ho chian": fried oyster omelette... :$

OMG OMG OMG OMG~~~

Char kuey teow... I had this almost everyday for breakfast/lunch/dinner... YET, it's so delicious and I will never ever get bored of it! I SWEAR!!! :p

If you were a hunky guy, I would marry you, Char Kuey Teow... :k Lol...

"BURPPPP...!!!"

Ooops... ;)

Akira's hospitality really make me feel warm! Right before we parted from each other, he brought us to another location somewhere in Penang (which I'm really clueless) for Chinese version of Apong! More information here in Akira's blog.

Simple to make, yet lotsa people queued up for it!

Friendly Uncle Guan keep assuring me that my Apong is preparing now, and will be served to me in a jiffy! My verdict: SUPERDUPER YUMMY~~~ :$

That's it! That wraps up the closing of my 3-days 2-nights Penang trip. Although we have been there for only 3 days, yet we filled ourselves with food endlessly!!! It was great to meet you in person, Akira! You are the true Food God I have ever known, and a great friend to have! I gotta say that blogging brings people from different corners of the world, together!

I DEFINITELY WILL GO TO PENANG AGAIN!!!

Jom gi Penang!

The must-have Cendol in Penang

This is the must-have, famous, and one of it's kind Teo-chew cendol in Penang! Almost anyone and everyone in Penang knows where is this famous cendol stall is situated. It's just in between the lane in city centre. Ask anyone on the road, and they will kindly show you the way! ;) Friendly Malaysians, that's what we are... (Erm... :x)

"Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendol & Ice Kacang". Other than cendol and ice-kacang, they sell chrysanthemum, wheatgrass and sirap drink as well. Everything goes with lotsa ICE to cool you down!

Next to cendol stall is the assam laksa stall. Choose either cendol OR assam laksa, as they aren't close friends or buddies. Beware~

Small tiny stall by the roadside, yet as famous as Kate Hudson. Lol... :D

The most anticipated cendol!!! Something I'm looking forward to, after a hot sunny day! It tasted so heavenly~

Cendol is a traditional dessert originated from Jawa, Indonesia, but it is equally popular in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Cendol's basic ingredient: shaved ice, coconut milk, starch noodles with green food coloring and palm sugar. Other optional addition to cendol: red bea, glutinous rice, grass jelly, and creamed corn.

He, happy with cendol.

Them, happy with cendol.

Actions do speak louder than words.

"Ingrish"???

Something for you to laugh about!

HUH???

No warranty for the pump we check the pump found out clogging with (cloth, pad will damage the pump)

Lol~~~ :D

Please don't whack me...

Wtfsuperdupermcdkfc wrong with my broadband connection tonight? Darn it... Now I can't online and I'm typing this post offline (type on Notepad wtf and paste it to this post when I go to work the next morning). Sigh... Well, I DID able to silently post up this post anyway (this morning), without the awareness of my colleagues and superior (of course!). Tee--hee-- ;)

It was Father's Day last weekend. How did you celebrate this special day with your Dad? Candle-light dinner? Whipped up nice dinner? Baked cake? Thoughtful gifts? Whatever that is, your Dad will definitely love it! :D The most importantly will be GOOD health for your Dad! That's one thing that CAN'T be bought with MONEY! Here I am here to WISH ALL OF YOUR DAD: GOOD HEALTH and GREAT HAPPINESS!!! Gong xi gong xi... ;)

Okay, back to business...

To those who are SICK of me posting about Penang (again and again and again), please kindly raise up your leg and place it up to your head. Hahaha... ;) Kidding kidding... Who's sick of me babbling about Penang and think that, "Aiyah, you only went to Penang for 3 days and you talked as if you live there forever", you are free to browse other blogs at the side of my blog, all under "Click 'em". Those who are NOT sick of me talking about Penang, you can continue to read sllooooowwwlllyyy and scroll for the "cute wtf" pictures of mine. Hehehe... Lol... ;)

Introduction (to those who are new to my story) - Almost 3 weeks ago, Wei-Hwa and me drove to Penang for a short weekend getaway (24 May until 26 May). Yes, the petrol price hike up right after. Luckily we went on the right time. *wink*wink* We met up with Akira a.k.a Wah Si Sheng, the Food God who brought us to SoooOOOoo many places in Penang for local delicacies. Thank you...

Cut short my long grandmother story, he brought us to Ghee Hiang (in Macalister Road) for SHOPPING! No... Ghee Hiang is not the latest shopping complex in Penang, nor a boutique.

Ghee Hiang is Penang's oldest Teelseed Oil and Biscuit Manufacturer in Penang. It has 150 years of history!!! Wooooww... I have been to Penang thrice but NEVER went to Ghee Hiang before. *Paiseh*

Some random collectables by the owner, I think. Erm, what tulips got to do with teelseed oil and biscuit? LOL... One thing you MUST buy if you come to Penang is Tambun Biscuit aka Tau Sar Pneah aka Dragon Ball biscuit (It shapes like dragon balls. Eh, wait a minute... Dragon's Ball so small only ar?? Lol...). Tambun Biscuit is a MUST HAVE in your shopping list!

Me with the long-lost brothers. Hahaha, they DO look alike...

Ghee Hiang even appeared in "Ho Chak!" TV show!

Ain't the baby cute... :)

The Mercedes has already 150 years old! Wahlauyeh... it still moves! Nah, kidding... Ghee Hiang indeed has the history of 150 years!!!

Yay, I found my twin sister!!!

Who's cuter??? ;)

Notice that Ghee Hiang's Tambun biscuit is larger compared to the normal Tambun biscuit ones. Maybe Ghee Hiang's Tambun biscuit are also known as Dinosaur Ball? Hikhikhik... :D

I just bought a bottle of Ghee Hiang famous teelseed oil (aka sesame seed oil, for my mum) and a small box of Tambun biscuit. Hehehehe... You must be thinking, "Huh? Bought 1 box of biscuit only nia? Cakap tadi famous punya kedai... Apalah~". Hahaha... Ghee Hiang's product are quite expensive, and that's why we are heading over to Sheng Hiang (another Tambun Biscuit manufacturer, at Kimberly Street) for my extra dose of Tambun biscuits!!!

Nope, I didn't take pictures there.

Yes, I bought alot. ;)

I'm so youthful wtf, I went to Youth Park

Sorry that I *poof* away these days and did not post any updates here... Sorry... Gomenasai...

Two weeks ago, I went to Penang. Yes, two WEEKS ago! Don't wonder why I continue to blog about it (again) now. Petrol price hiked issue were huge! Everyone has been talking about it. I joined the crowd too. Sigh... :x *It's all about the money...*

For those of you who were blur with what I am talking about, here's a snippets of short introduction that might help you. :)

Two weeks ago, I went to Penang for a short weekend getaway - for the food. And I mean LOTS OF it! Don't believe it? Read this, this, this and this, and you will definitely believe me! :0

Hahaha... do you believe in me now? BUT, mind you, I did other healthy activities too during my Penang trip! Tell you about it later.

One sunny Monday morning, I woke up to the beautiful sunrise! I was mesmerized and stunned, while looking across Pearl of the Orient, to the big-yellow-round "egg-yolk". *Knocked myself on the head* Oh my, I've been thinking about food, at the starting of the day itself! Oh my... oh my... :$

First thing first, BREAKFAST! Akira brought us to Classic Coffee Shop in Perak Lane for Prawn mee/Hokkien mee. You don't need me to explain where is the shop, what's the shop selling, what's the shop popular for, how old is the owner wtf because Akira has said it all in his blog! :D Hehehe... I can save the time typing *evil me*.

My verdict for the above Prawn mee/Hokkien mee (Why there are 2 names? Why prawn mee, why Hokkien mee? Penang of Penang call it "Hokkien mee" but people of Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur (as far as I concern) call it "prawn mee". Read this and you will better understanding on it... :D

Next pit-stop - Youth Park cos I'm youthful wtf (hahaha...). That's the healthiest thing I did in Penang. If not for Akira that brought us to Youth Park, we will be eating and eating and eating non stop! Phew...

Beautiful Japanese inspired garden lamp. I also want! For my future home lah...

Many people feedback that they look like brothers! Don't you think so?

Akira and me.

The famous (miniature) Penang Hill Railway.

A kind-hearted giant, helping to push the Railway up! Aww... ain't she kind? *perasan me*

Ok lah, better I get lost.

Lushful greenery to "clean" my mind and soul.

Modern Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat. Wahahaa... :p

How I wish that Seremban's Lake Garden will be as clean as Penang's one. Sigh... It has been a long time since I have been to Lake Garden for a walk. One: I'm lazy, I rather sleeping than exercising (which is BAD!), Two: I hate the heaps of mosquitoes in Lake Garden!

Seremban Lake Garden should learn from Penang Youth Park. Sigh...

Okay... I know I looked stupid and silly. *si bodoh yang asli* :x

Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel
I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far

You are the calm
I am the storm
You are the breeze that carries me on
When I set adrift
You anchor me
You're there for me

I'm so hot wtf.

We're so hot wtf.

I'm speechless... :#

We brought another friend along too... Her name is Ms ST (Self Timer).

Mini Japanese garden.

So "zen"...

Random photo of a random flower.
Thank you Ms Self Timer!

Walk for your life, baby!

Artistic photography side of me.

Artistic photography side of him. And make me looked so silly wtf.

I loved the landscape design~

I love both of the above photos very much! How about you? Please say you loved it too... pretty please... please... please... :(

Creative "whitening" swimming pool. Soak for minimum of 1 hour and you will achieve "white" skin (better then skin whitening product in the market!) cos of the chlorine!

Even dogs walks happily in the park. Sibeh cute leh that Shih-Tzu puppy!

I realize that I take lots of photos with sunshine shining through. Why ar? Why ar? Why ar? Sunshine unleash the creative side of me wtf.

Grandpa and grandson drawing and coloring together-gether... Aww... so sweet! :$

Guess what is it?

Sorry... winner doesn't get anything... :p

It's the Pebble Walk! People says that the more pain you experience on your foot, the more internal sickness you will have. The foot connects to all of organs in our body. Each point on the foot represents certain organs. Whichever point you feel painful, that's the organ you need to care about! So, it's better to prevent than cure! ;)

Akira and me acting we're in Japan/Portland/anywhere-but-Penang wtf.

Me acting sibeh cute.

Us, introducing each other, as if you don't know us yet.
He's Akira and I'm Kate Hudson wtf. :p

I think it looked better without me making fool of it.

Wei-Hwa and me~ :$

Final photo.

For this post!

More coming right up! Sorry lah if I take super LONG time to blog about Penang. Too many food photos shouting to be published on my blog... Nah, don't worry... Approximately 2 more blog posts and I'm over with Penang.

My next traveling destination: LANGKAWI!

I'm still collecting information on Langkawi though, anyone can recommend webpages that provides reliable, up-to-date and trustworthy info? Or are they anyone who has been to Langkawi, and can provide me tips and recommendations? :) Thank you, thank you in advance... :D

P/S: To Phei Shan (whom in Japan now) - I'm extremely happy that my blog reminds you of Malaysia, and the food of course! Hmm... let's trade place for few months, until I had enough of sashimi and udon, and you will get sick of prawn mee, curry mee, nasi lemak, roti canai, thosai, rendang, char kuey teow etc etc etc.
