All About My V-day *sigh*

Dear Secret Recipe,

YOU HAVE ENTIRELY RUINED MY "WHAT-A-SUPPOSED-TO-BE" ROMANTIC VALENTINE'S DAY!

I HATE YOU and I will NOT gonna buy your cheese cakes/drinks/cornish/brownies/lamb shank (no matter how I love it!). In fact, I'm not gonna spend a single penny (or step half-a-foot) in your franchise for... for... for...
.....
........
...........
........
.....

this WHOLE 4 years! See ya on the 13th General Election!

You told me the service was bad because you hired new bunch of waiters/waitresses.

When I asked you "Why there are rice inside the gravy?", you took away the dish and never returned. When I got frustrated and ready to leave, you told me, "That one (chicken chop with mushroom sauce, served with rice and salad) is not-so-good. This one (newly cooked) is very good." You mean all these while you have been serving "not-so-good" food?

"Upon-receiving-the-dish" reaction.
Found out that there are rice cooked together with the mushroom sauce gravy!
Super hard rice! I wonder whether these are rice cooked overnight?
Asked for a change.
Waiting for the waiter to come back for the dish.

Green apple kasturi: One of my favorite drink in Secret Recipe because you made it taste so good! But this particular time, you have disappointed me... The drink you've made was TOO overly sweet, and when I complained about it, all you did was add water to it!

Ice BLENDED mocha with caramel is a drink where you blend up mocha with ice, served it up in a tall glass, put some whipped cream and caramel on top, and VOILA... you get ICE BLENDED mocha with caramel. BUT what I get is watery-tasteless-iceless ICE BLENDED MOCHA.

You have let me down...

You have let my bf down...

You have let others down too...

No matter how many times you have said sorry that night, all of us would not forgive you for destroying that oh-so-romantic night! (and I woke up middle of the night feeling my stomach growling BECAUSE BOTH OF US SHARED THE LASAGNA!!!)

I dunno how tebal your face is lor, Mrs. Secret Recipe Punya Tauke... All you did was smiling and smiling and telling everyone "today's-business-was-damn-good", and yet the things you DIDN'T do was improving your service and keeping everyone happy.

Stuffed my mouth silly with lasagna (we, both shared this!) and wanna get away from this place a.s.a.p!

And you dare to charge me SERVICE TAX?

Yours hatredly,
Mei Wah

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's only 10:28 pm but I'm darn sleepy right now!

But this won't gonna stop me from wishing all of you a...
(That's my virtual gerbera flower for you!)

So, watcha waiting for? Give your lover some hand-written poems/flowers/chocolate/teddy/card/candle light dinner/spa vouchers/manicure vouchers/pedicure vouchers/marie france bodyline vouchers/handphone vouchers on this oh-so-romantic day! This is also the day when you can go lovey-dovey with your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/partner... (Without minding whether other people are looking at you with some weird faces!).

For all loving couples out there, this is a sweet poem for you:

First Love (By John Clare)

I never was struck before that hour
With love so sudden and so sweet.
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.

My face turned pale, a deadly pale.
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked what could I ail
My life and all seemed turned to clay.

And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my eyesight quite away.
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday.

I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start.
They spoke as chords do from the string,
And blood burnt round my heart.

Are flowers the winter's choice
Is love's bed always snow
She seemed to hear my silent voice
Not love appeals to know.

I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before.
My heart has left its dwelling place
And can return no more.

HAPPY SWEET VALENTINE'S DAY!

Happy "Rat" New Year!

I wanna wish all my friends, my colleagues and readers (IF I have any) a very HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! May your year ahead will be filled with good health, abundance wealth, prosperity and joy! And of course, those who are attached - faster get married lah... And for those who aren't attached YET, faster faster get someone to love lah!*wink*wink*

In conjuction with new year, this blog entry will be ALL about new year.

For me, Chinese New Year means:
  1. Eat like an ogre. (Put away that weighing scale!)
  2. Guilt later.
  3. Firecrackers from neighbours. (Jet, you are right... Maybe we DO aged already! When I was young *oh my, I sound like an old lady* I love the sound of firecrackers banging here and there. But NOW, I was super annoyed with it!)
  4. Red packets.
  5. Reunion dinner with high school friends.
  6. Meeting up with relatives. (Then, the aunties will *concern* about when you will get married, what's your plan for future, when do you wanna change job, change car, yadda yadda yadda...)
  7. A reason for shopping.
  8. HOLIDAY!
This year's celebration is extra special for me as I was in Kota Kinabalu for the past 3 years, and didn't celebrate Chinese New Year with my family.

Put away the emo side, let's see the CNY check list:
Fake flowers on dried branches. If got money, pussy willow is the best. Decorations for the trees.Wall decorations.A very joyful couple.Kuih bakul. Eat on the last day of CNY. Cut into slices and dip into beaten eggs. Fry until golden brown. Then it's ready to eat! Another option - place sliced kuih bakul in between sliced yam, and dipped into beaten egg, then fry! Mandarin oranges ("kam" = gold). The more sour it is, the more I love it!
Biscuits.Biscuits..Biscuits...
Biscuits! And more biscuits! What's a CNY without prawn cracker......and Shandy?Fatt Choy statue and bamboo tree to usher in good luck and prosperity!*Fa Chai, Fa Fa Chai*

I'll be starting work on 11th Feb... ughh! It's not something I'm looking forward to.

GONG XI FA CHAI again to all! This is the day where you can have great moments with your family and friends. Enjoy every minute of it, and appreciate the people around you... Happy celebrating!!!
