Day 2: Calypso Cabaret, Bangkok

I am excited about this post, because I'm gonna reveal MANS who are much more prettier, sexier, bigger (boobs), slimmer than US! Yes, they are she-males/kathoey/ladyboys/transsexuals/tranny/ah-kua, whatever you want to call them.

Thailand are famous for this third gender - the she-males. "The term kathoey or katoey (Thai: กะเทย, IPA) generally refers to a male-to-female transgender person or an effeminate gay male in Thailand". (extracted from Wikipedia, my truly best pal)

Yay... we are going to watch Calypso Cabaret Show, the most famous she-males show in Thailand. If you are in Bangkok and never watched this kind of show before, this a MUST in your itinerary.

The Calypso Cabaret offers you an evening of laughter, dazzling lights, beautiful 'women' and a lot of funs. Each night more than 50 performers will amaze you with a spectacle that would not be out of place any where in the world.

Calypso Cabaret is located at Asia Hotel, 296 Phayathai Rd., Bangkok 10400.

However, spare yourselves from Thai-Girl Show (more affectionately called as the "Tiger Show"). Yay, seriously! Imagine the girls played ping-pong, blowed horns, changed clear water into Cola, can opener, blow darts, pulled razor blades tied on string and played with goldfishes/turtle/birds with their VAGINA!!! Yes! Everything. With. Their. VAGINA! For clearer information, you can read a blogger's experience on Thai-Girl Show. One word - GROSS! :o

Frankly, I rather be seeing she-males than females who does magic with their vagina.

Alright, enough of vagina, back to the show.

We dressed up nicely for the show ;)

But first, we gotta have dinner as we are so hungry! This lil' cozy cafe is located across Asia Hotel.

Fragrant Fried Rice, 40 Baht.

Ticket price: 1,200 baht equivalent RM120 perperson. Wait, please don't faint, listen to me. We got 2 tickets for 950 baht! That's RM95 for 2 person! No, we are not sitting waaayyyy at the back, in fact we are sitting on the third row! Great view for cheap tickets.

How? ;)

ESSENTIAL TIP (take note, take note!!!): To get (way) cheaper tickets, never ever head straight to Asia Hotel to purchase the tickets. Instead, go to any travel agencies (in Bangkok, duh~) in the morning and book your desired Calypso Cabaret show time and date. The best part is you can even bargain! :D We bargained, and we bought 2 tickets for 950 bahts! :p

No, it's not the end yet! There are more shows, but I am saving my battery for the last! Calypso Cabaret allows you to take pictures with the ladyboys for free, while other shows in town might charge you!

I enjoyed her performance the most, as her facial expression throughout the show were vivacious and lively.

Able to snap the last picture of the night before the battery died in front of me. We were exhausted, and so does my camera. Sigh... Our Day 2 were packed with Floating Market, Temple of Dawn, Temple of Reclining Buddha and Calypso Cabaret. We were worn out! The next I want is the bed. Zzz~~~
