Korean Feast!

Dear fellow friends,

The korean feast that we have been waiting for is finally here!

Venue: Dai Cheong Kam Korean Restaurant, Oakland, Seremban 2.
Time: 7.30 pm (but for SURE that most of us will arrive half and hour LATER... haha!)
The confirmed VIPs:
  • me (of course!)
  • Siew Yee
  • Poh Yan
  • Lily
  • May Jet
  • Kelly
  • Rose
  • Tsu Ann
  • Connie
  • Suet Mun
  • Vennie
  • Siow Mei
  • Sher Hui

There are some SUPER VIPs that didn't react to the emails thats already bombing everyone's mailbox. Luckily that Hotmail increases their capacity to 5Gb... Or else, sure berkecai after being bombed by emails. The majority emails I have in my Hotmails are flying emails from my pals...

The SUPER VIPs list:

  • Loky (where are you?)
  • Natalie (where are you too?)
Let me post some photos (only two) of the foods from Dai Cheong Kam. I went there once (with Siew Yee and WH) and the food there are fabulous, delicious, extravaganza, blah blah blah~ I ordered Bibim Bab (below) which are combination of vegetables, rice and egg served on piping hot stone bowl.

I ordered beef with rice. Look normal but it's super duper delicious! I shoved the food into my mouth right after it was served. Better eat it when it's hot! I didn't manage to take the picture of my meal, because I was too hungry that night. Just remember that never judge the food by it's look.

Below are the Korean table setting for each table. There are 12 small, mini size appetizers ranging from kimchi, potato salad, baby octopus, preserved tau fu, preserved kangkung, fried tauge, fried kerang, fried squid, fried ikan bilis... and the list go on. I wonder whether the table setting will be the same tomorrow?Doesn't it look cute? All the appetizers are served in small small plates in small small portion. I can't wait to meet up with my friends tomorrow, some which I didn't meet for ages (yes, Suet Mun, I didn't meet up with you ever since we left high school!). As we are getting older, the least time we able to spent with friends, as we are busy with working life, home and love.

As for my new resolution for the new year 2008, one of it will be... SPENDING LESS TIME IN WORK (GO HOME PRECISELY ON TIME!) & SPEND MORE QUALITY TIME WITH FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES. Amen...

Tips for Newly Grads!

Most of us graduated from University, looked for jobs and practically working now. As a freash graduate, you do not know how to bring yourself into this "evil" working life. So, to protect yourself, you need to:

  1. Be polite to everyone at ALL time (from clerks to the makcik cleaners).
  2. Beware of loudmouths.
  3. Starts mentoring.
  4. Use compliments as investments (but please don't be so fake when giving out compliments).
  5. Being nice to those you DON'T like.
  6. ASK, don't tell people things.

(extracted from some free magazine... haha...)

Hooray, no telephone line, no work!

For the past two days, telephone line was being cut off in my company. On the first day, we thought that the company forgotten to pay the telephone and internet bill. On the second day, we were informed that the Telekom line were being cut off and stolen! This affected the whole industrial estate area (that was about 10 factories there in my area). The main telephone line were being cut off and stolen, causing us both joy and misery.

JOY because there were NO telephones, NO emails, NO fax! Everyone jumped with joy when these 3 main office-distubance were cut off!

MISERY because we have to use boss's handphone to make urgent calls (company pay boss's bills ma... If use own phone, sendiri tanggung lah!). But when boss's phone (a.k.a public phone) unavailable, we have to use our own phone, or you can try risking NOT to make that urgent call. Haha... I tried the latter and the outcome were BAD... So, I make a super-duper-cute-cute face in front of the boss hoping that he won't get mad when I need his phone. Haha...

Today, things were resumed back to normal. Telephone lines were back and EVERYTHING streaming in - faxes, telephones ring non-stop and emails pouring in... Aih...

Mei Wah

I googled my name and I found this!

Mei Wah Company - selling Italian charms.

Mei Wah Water and Electrical Engineering Ltd.
Mei Wah Restaurant from a flickr user.
Mei Wah Restaurant - "Meiwah provides worthy food..."
Kinda proud of my name!

Comparing

When you are a kid, you compare with other kids about toys, Barbie dolls, masak-masak sets, Spiderman figurines.

When you reach primary school, you compare water tumblers, school bags, stationeries.

When you are in high school, you compare clothing style, hair style, gadgets, some even compare boyfriends.

When you reach university, you compare grades, CGPA, how many A's you got, thesis title.

When you are a working adult, you compare SALARY, car, handbags, credit cards, travelling places.

When you are married, you compare your house, your spouse, your maid, spouse's car.

When you had children, you compare them with other children.

When you are old, you compare how much money left in your account, what your children gave you on your birthday, which places your children brought you to...

No matter who, when and how, we will never stop comparing. What else do you wanna compare?

MEN INDULGENCE!

A friend of mine, Connie sent me an email with "yummy topless" famous men. Let's indulge... *slurp*. Haha... I sound like a men maniac here. But, anyway... let's enjoy and critic...

Aaron Kwok. Hot factor: 8 out of 10. A body gained from his powerful dancing and working out.

Alex Fong: Hong Kong swimmer and now actor cum singer. Hot factor: 10 out of 10!!! Swimmer's body is sizzling HOT!
Dunno who is this guy but he look like Vic Chow from the once-famous F4 isn't it?
Daniel Wu. Ermm... *I heard rumours that he's gay*.
*This posse is verrryyyy gay*. No offence, Rose! *
Edison Chen. Sizzling factor: 4 out of 10. He's cute, not HOT.
Kang Ta, korean singer. I love his song, but look at this picture! His nipple is so... so... erm... how should I describe it? Large? Just take a look at the previous photos of other men. Kang Ta's nipple is different from the others.
Very gay.
LEE HOM! Sizzling factor: 10 out of 10!!! Burning HOT!
Peter Ho, Taiwanese actor cum singer.
That's all for today's blog entry. This blog is for you to "wash your eyes" (cuci mata). ENJOY!

I want...

I dunno what got into me recently. I flipped through IKEA magazine, from year 2003 up till the latest year 2007 magazine. Dreaming on how I can decorate my home sweet home, my little heavenly space that I'm looking forward to after long working hours. Just waiting for the right time to get my own home!

These are what I drooled on... Poang armchair RM389. Love the fabric design, love the comfiness...
Love it because it's baby PINK in color!
This bed is so girly! I know-lar this bed is for child, but it's extendable, means I still can sleep on it right?
My bed MUST have lotsa lotsa pillows! Essential for a good night sleep.
Other than pink, I love white too. White sofa, white kitchen, white car, white bread.... anything white, EXCEPT white hair.
White BATHROOM!
White KITCHEN!
Another white KITCHEN!
Cute utensils. Not those freebies from Fresh & White/Tops/Darlie/Colgate. When you eat, and you saw these cut utensils, you can't stop but have another bowl of rice.
I love IKEA meatball, definitely giving this a try - SHRIMP Sandwich!
When will I be able to get my own home, with my own hard-earned money?

Travel Guide (Kota Kinabalu) - Day 1

I know... I know... This blog entry is WAYYY too late. So sorry... I've been so busy after my convocation trip. First: I got changed my department from Planning to Customer Service. Double job, extra hectic, no more blogging during office hour, no more Messenger and no increment. *sigh* But anyway, my convocation trip has been very very FUN...
Reached LCCT (Low-Cost Carrier Terminal) in wee hours! Didn't get much sleep as I was too excited with this trip, double checked my luggage many times just in case I left out something.
Bumped into lotsa uni-pals, getting onto the same flight as me. I remember that the first time when I went to LCCT, the first impression LCCT gave me is that, "Is this an airport or warehouse/ Giant/ Carrefour/ Makro/ Tesco?". Kota Kinabalu's Air Asia airport is way much different than LCCT - in the better way, of course!
View from plane and me posing with the craft. I got chased by the Air Asia crew, "Miss ah miss, please don't take pictures here ah". Haha... I love this hotel and I would recommend this to anyone who wanna go KK for holiday. Radius International Hotel, situated at 7th floor of Warisan Square, opposite Waterfront, KK.
Radius International Hotel, Waterfront, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is a newest and stylish “ BOUTECH ” concept hotel as the Group’s first “ BOUTECH ” Hotel in the region. The term “ BOUTECH ” is the combination of the words “boutique” and “technology” to reflects the size of the hotel and the technologically skewered infrastructural interior design. The hotel was design to not just fit today’s needs but also for the needs and changes of tomorrow.

The hotel is located on the 7 th Floor of Warisan Square, a shopping centre in the middle of Kota Kinabalu. Guest will find an easy walking access to all local attractions, commercial districts, retail, eating and entertainment facilities. Just 10 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Nature and adventure, Islands and beaches, golfing and diving, all these are interesting offering available in Sabah, The Land Below The Wind.
After checking in and took our bath, we went to Philippino Market, situated in the heart of KK town, for souvenirs and pearls. With this pearl ring, I look like Datin or rich tai-tai...
There are two types of pearls - sea water pearls and freah water pearls. Sea water pearls are more expensive compared to the latter ones. The datin ring that I wore is of course fresh water pearl. I bought something for myself - a fresh water pendant in a shape of tear drop for only RM8.00!

Then, next stop of today will be Warisan Square, shopping haven! Brands include: Padini Concept Store, Island Shop, Esprit, Baleno, Charles & Keith, Salabianca, Blush!, Quiksilver, etc etc... Enough to fulfill your shpping hunger.
Sabah chocolate.
Took this zen-decoration in one part of Radius International Hotel. Very zen right?
We went to Kampung Selera Air, KK for seafood dinner.
Dumpling (aka "woh tip") is a MUST eat food in Sabah. Dumpling in Sabah is different from the one we have in peninsular. In peninsular, dumpling is served in soup. Here in Sabah, dumpling is pan-fried and served with vineger and chopped garlic. Never taste this kind of combination leh?
Performance fo the night - Bamboo Band. Their musical instruments are all made of bamboo.
This band is only available on Wednesday night! Lucky us... "Woh tip" aka dumpling.
Lettuce fried with beancurd and egg fried with oysters.
From left: Pig, marmite crab, steamed garoupa, oyster egg, beancurd lettuce and butter prawn in the middle.
Food minus the PIG.
After dinner, we head back to Warisan Square where our hotel is situated and THEN we spotted this - CHARLES & KEITH on SALES!
Charles & Keith is a brand originated from Singapore. Both of them are from Singapore, opened their brand in Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia (only available in KK), South Africa, and lots more. I love their design (unlike the usual Vincci/ Nose type), and I bought a handbag and a cute clutch!
Enough of shopping - back to sleep, recharge energy for tomorrow!
