Company Annual Dinner

I gotta keep aside my traveling photos, as I need to cover my company's annual dinner celebration happened last Friday, 19 December 08. As the theme were tad boring ("International Traditional Night" wtf), we got no choice but to wear baju kurung, baju Kedah, kebaya, punjabi suit, saree cheong sam, yeah dull I know. But a theme IS a theme, and guess what I wore? Who guessed it right will get a virtual McDonald Prosperity Burger from me!

Photobucket

Haha. Cold jokes.

I WORE A SAREE!

For the first time in my life, I wore a saree!

I have worn punjabi suit and baju kurung before but never saree, as I am clueless on how to tie a saree (You MUST get help from Indian ladies! Never struggle on your own. You will end up looking like a chinese dumpling).

As I was saying, I got the help of my Indian colleague, who is such a sweetie to help me tie the saree. The tedious process takes about 30 minutes and by the time we were finished and ready for the dinner, I'm already sweating and my make-up are ruined *boo*.

Great.

Warning: Heaps of photos coming right up!

Yee Mei and me, when the event just started and we got nothing else to do. So, we camwhored.

Photobucket
The grand ballroom.

Photobucket
From left: Mei Mei's sister (sorry, I didn't get to know your name!), Mei Mei, me being Indian and Karen being Punjabi.

Photobucket
Karen, me, Foong and Cinley (apprently, she ain't following the theme).

Photobucket
Vanakam! That's me popping behind, with my signature Indian hand gesture. I am an Indian for the night and I gotta do it right. From left: Cinley, me, Lim and Rachel.

Photobucket

Photobucket
We are hungry, we are bored, thus we end up camwhoring.

Photobucket
The picture above was actually the other way round (aka 'terbalik') but I rotate it to normal. Haha!

Photobucket
We are crossing our fingers, hoping that they will open that damn big lid...

Photobucket
...and what's under the lid - truly disappoint us.

Photobucket
Nevertheless, we charged the food cause we are hungry wtf.

Photobucket
The man behind the night: Amin bin Mingat (oops, did I just revealed your full name?)

Photobucket
Yee Mei (with her signature 45 degress downwards pose), June the June and Sushmeiwah (Sushmita Sen wtf).

Photobucket

Photobucket
Peace to the Chinese girl who wore saree ;)

Photobucket
During karaoke competition (yes, they do have karaoke competition *hmmph* :(), we sneak out to toilet...

Photobucket
...and camwhored there too. :p

Photobucket
Tee-hee~

Photobucket
Clockwise from left: Rachel, Mastura, Yanti, me, June and Yee Mei.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Yanti being pretty that night (you looked like a bride that night!), and Mastura for being my Managing Director wtf (miss your cold jokes and humour.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Me with Asha (right) who is kind enough to borrow me her saree. Little that you know that she wore the saree for her marriage registration! :D I felt so honored!

Photobucket
Ando the Japanese (in case you didn't notice), giving me thumbs-up for looking pretty in saree wtf. Okay, I made that sentence up *boo*.

Photobucket
Me trying to fit into the picture.

Photobucket
June with Endoh (he's a Japanese too wtf), who is kind enough to buy us Meiji, Morinaga and Pocky chocolates whenever he returned from Japan :)

Photobucket
Me love Meiji, Morinaga and Pocky with unusual flavors that you bought your wittiness.

Photobucket
Endoh san, make sure your wife doesn't see this! ;)

Photobucket
*Gasp* And this! :o

Photobucket
From left: Okada, Endoh, Minaguchi (MinaPrada, MinaLV, MinaChanel, MinaMiuMiu wtf), and Ando.

Photobucket
Preseting the most handsome and charming man in my company: Fujii san aka Managing Director. He was the Managing Director of Sony Precision Engineering (Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya), *doink* the factory that produces Sony DSLR Camera Alpha Model!

Photobucket
THIS!

Photobucket
MD Fujii says, "Hah, you don't know the Sony Alpha model ar???"

Photobucket
"Nandiri" to all of you who supported Blog Indulgence! all these while...

Photobucket
After MD left, we make a fool out of ourselves with the polystrene-Santa-Claus.

Photobucket
Me: *smooch* Please gimme a Coach Sabrina Large in Espresso for my Christmas... Pretty please...
June: NO! DON'T GIVE IT TO HER!

Photobucket

Photobucket
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way~

Photobucket
A guaranteed lucky draw present for everyone who came. I aimed for the LCD TV or at least an iPod, but instead I got a sandwich maker... :( SANDWICH MAKER!!!

Photobucket
When Indian girl meets her Punjabi friend...

Photobucket

Photobucket
...they bumped into their Chinese buddy.

Photobucket
And here, they are wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year (although it's a month early to wish you ;) )

Photobucket
Me trying to steal a bite from June's plate.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Borrowing someone's clothes (with Dragon motifs) as background. Smart!

Photobucket
Yee Mei: Never EVER mess with me!

Question: Why the heck I'm with the peace sign?
Answer: I wanna show off my bangles!

The Most Stupid Funniest Act of the Day:

Photobucket
(O____o) We saw juon/pontianak/langsuir/ghost wtf.

Photobucket
Yee Mei: HELP! I am being strangled by Juon!
June: .........
Psst... they used my saree while performing this act.

Photobucket
I can't help but laughing my heart out whenever I saw these photos.

My Random Thoughts on Annual Dinner:

  1. It was indeed BORING! If weren't wore photo-snapping and fooling around, we will be bored to death.
  2. Food were little. By the time I reach home at 11.30 pm, my stomach was growling and in-demand for food. However, I went to sleep with an empty stomach. :(
  3. Food were too spicy (and too little of course!).
  4. If wasn't for the lucky draw, we wouldn't attend this Annual Dinner. :( However, I was disappointed with what I got. I DON'T WANT A SANDWICH MAKER! I WANT AN iPOD!
  5. If company were to organize another Annual Dinner next year, I will think clearly - "To Go or Not To Go"?
