The terrifying Langkawi Cable Car

You can go around telling other people, "I have been to Langkawi cos I had booze, chocolates, sunbathing, island-hopping yadda yadda yadda...". But ONE thing you can't miss IF you are here in Langkawi is this:

THE LANGKAWI CABLE CAR!

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRY THIS IF YOU HAVE WEAK HEART! Okay, I am exaggerating. (P/S: I admit that I'm too lazy to write right now and *psst* I got the excerpt from here. All my credits goes to them! ;) )

The entrance to FUN.

Oriental Village is located at the foot hill of the Machincang mountain. From here, we will be taken up to the cool Machincang range via the Langkawi Cable Car on new and modern gondolas giving us the panoramic views of the surrounding forests, the Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells) waterfall, as well as the sea.

I'm not pretty today wtf.

We share the gondola with this couple from Jordan. :D

Up, up and away!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Nah... it doesn't look terrifying from the pictures. You gotta TRY THIS YOURSELF!

You can't imagine how high we are now!

After a journey of 1,700 meters in length from Base Station, we have finally reach the Middle Station!
This intermediate Cable Car station on the eastern ridges provides the much desired to the eastern cliffs with its 3 vertical chimneys and the beautiful 360 degree views.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
We are now 650 meters above sea level! That's the Curve Hanging Bridge.

After enjoying the beautiful view, we board back the gondolas, which will take us to another 450 meters up to the Top Station.

Taadaaaa... :p

A short walk up the stairs from the Top Station will take visitors to the two (2) viewing platforms at the top of Gunung Machincang, the climax of the trip. Visitors will be amazed at the unfolding dramatic views from the platforms, the many unique and exciting features of Machincang, are dominating rock tower peaks providing spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of the Langkawi islands, Kedah and Southern Thailand as well as dramatic views of the deep chasms, overhangs cliff walls, isolated pinnacles and some caves. Such nature monuments are seldom seen anywhere else in this combination except in Langkawi.

The over-ruling height of Gunung Machincang (708m), its commanding views over Langkawi, the western sea-coast, and the dramatic views over the funnel with its staggered rock blocks will make the visitors wonder in amazement and bring the visitors so close to nature that they can practically touch it!

A cafe at the Top Station offers delicious refreshments and unbeatable views with refreshing cool breezes, which allow visitors to enjoy Sunsets at 708m above sea-level is about 5 degrees (+/-) cooler than lowlands.
Remarks: I am so lazy to write today! Sorry... :(

I do what I does best: macro photography! ;)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
After trekking through the forest (hey, it's tiring okay!), we have reach the...

Curve Hanging Bridge!!!
Latest attraction at Langkawi Cable Car is a 125 meter curve platform, pedestrian bridge across a deep chasm linking Top Station with Machincang mountain range. Open to public on 27th February 2005. It won a few recognition awards for this incredible design.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
It's actually quite windy, and the bridge is SHAKING!!! :o WoOOoooOOoo...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Beautifully structured bridge! Bridge around the corner? ;)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Freakingly scary!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Yay, we have reached the ground! It feels so good to touch the ground. Seriously. I hate being in high places. Hmm, what do you call this??? *fumbles in Google* Oh yeah... Acrophobia! :x

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Even bunny prefers the ground wtf.

I have nothing better else to do than stuffing myself with booze (to cool me down on this scorching day) and randomly snapping pictures. :) I did not use any PS to create some of the effects :D (damn proud of myself wtf).

shyt. my sofa -___-

muffin is without decor and bigger. cupcakes are those ppl who went thru the trouble to make muffin ashame of itself by alot of decor.lol..and cupcakes more presentable ma..however, muffin is more edible.
that's just my blind guess.

aiseh, u walked through that bridge?!? mad woman.
with that height, u dont need an acrophobia to love grounds.

i hope i am in ur plan of getting a diving license. i cant drive properly yet. at least let me get a license which i can be good at.pretty please.

p/s: since i cannot sit the sofa, i'll write longer comment as a form of procrastination

Love,
R

aiyoyo my knees go weak seeing you scale those heights in the picture. me not so good with heights. i get fidgety just going up the escalator in Singapore that goes up two floors high. By the midst of it, my palms are clammy, my hearts beat faster and i'm out of breath. See what they do to me yoyoyoyo..
